   		<title>NSI 1st Charity Event</title>
		<description><![CDATA[
			<p><img src="images/Larry-Chris-Brown-poster.jpg" alt="Chris Brown Poster" width="150" height="145" hspace="0" align="left" style="padding-right:10px;" />On February 8, 2009, NSI sponsored its own Chief Cultural Sciences Officer, Dr. Larry Kuznar, in the 2nd Annual <em>Run It, Walk It for the Chris Brown memorial fund raiser</em>. The event raises funds for a memorial scholarship in memory of Chris Brown, a well-known and highly talented runner and Indiana University – Purdue University, Fort Wayne (IPFW) Cross Country team member. Chris tragically died of cancer in 2007 and the memorial fund was created by his friends to support future IPFW student athletes.<br />

   		<title>Fingerprinting Leading Indicators of WMD Terrorism</title>
		<description><![CDATA[
			<p>The Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI), in cooperation with Stanford University's Department of Computer Science, will be holding a Technosocial Predictive Analytics Symposium  to explore new methods for anticipatory analytical thinking at its AAAI Spring Symposium, March 22-25, 2009 at Stanford University, Stanford, CA.</p>

			<p>A paper entited "Fingerprinting Leading Indicators of WMD Terrorism: An Integrated Modeling Approach" by Kuznar (NSI), Asal (SUNY/Albany), Rethemeyer (SUNY/Albany), Pattipati (UConn), Popp (NSI), and Shellman (College of William and Mary) will be presented at the symposium (<a href="pubs/Fingerprinting_Leading Indicators_of_WMD_Terrorism_v2.pdf" target="_blank">view paper</a>).  In this paper a holistic, integrated social science analysis of the leading indicators of WMD terrorism that advances what is known about the social conditions that foster WMD terrorism is presented.</p>

   		<title>Army unveils new Stability Operations manual</title>
		<description><![CDATA[
			<p>The commanding general of the United States Army Training and Doctrine Command, Gen. William S. Wallace, unveiled new Army doctrine today, Oct. 6, at the annual meeting of the Association of the United States Army in Washington. The new stability operations manual, Field Manual 3-07, puts stability operations into doctrine after it was recently introduced in FM 3-0, Operations, where its importance was elevated to the same level as offensive and defensive operations.</p>
